Attracting more traffic to youre blog

Wow so you built a blog good layout lots of content so what do you do now ............. sit back and let everybody read it ...... if only ............ that's kinda what my impression was ........... the reality is for people to visit you re blog you are going to have to put in a bit of work ........... not only is you're content going to have to be relevant to you're visitors for them to keep coming back .......... you have to work at letting them know you are actually here ..... so how do you do that ....... well simple put work .......... but its not all bad ......there is web sites ... explaining what you have to do . .. if you look for them plus whatever i come across I'm going to write about and leave links to.

When you said it's hard work John, you weren't joking!

Just figuring out how to post your pages is hard, without going into all the RSS feed stuff!

I've tried Blogger, Freewebs and WordPress all of which are easy enough to use. Freewebs is great for starting with loads of nice templates and ease of use.

I've come to prefer Blogger,as it has an auto-save facility. I've had to learn how to do some of the coding myself. Just take a deep breath and have a go; following the instructions to the letter.

As for WordPress, it's great and easy enough to use. I've just won a years subscription to the 5$Themes Club; so I guess I'll be using WP more often from now on!

Get your reader's by posting comments to established blogs and sites. Don't spam, make it pertinent to the post and interesting and you'll get back links. This is much more enjoyable than filling out search engine registration forms.

Good luck! I hope that you enjoy blogging and that your on-line poker site comes off too!

Blogging on Google

Google..... This so far has been the easiest site to set up a blog page on so maby this is where you should start.
It has a good selection of templates , which are also easy to change .
A big plus for google blog is google analytics ...... with this you can check and see about traffic coming to youre blog , what pages they are visiting on youre blog ( if you have more than one page ) what if anything they are clicking on, e.g are they clicking on the link to youre web site .
One negative is I dont have access to a spell checker when im writing text like this .................it is available when you are typing a post for youre blog.
Setting up links is easy , so you should have no problem linking to youre website , or to anywhere else.
You also have the option of sharing a blog ........... which means you and a friend can work to gether on the blog , or you can give some one who understands certain things like setting up google analytics , rss feeds access to youre blog and get them to do that and then remove there access when they have it set up for you ......... quite handy that.
